Beyond #NoDAPL: Reclaiming Sovereignty Through Lakota/Dakota Medicines and Healing Practices
Please join SAGE on Thursday, January 14th at 2 pm EST for:
Beyond #NoDAPL: Reclaiming Sovereignty Through Lakota/Dakota Medicines and Healing Practices, a conversation with the women behind the Mní Wičhóni Clinic and Farm — a community-driven health center whose main goal is to serve Standing Rock by reclaiming, revitalizing, and reactivating ancestral knowledge to improve wellbeing and to heal. Lakota/Dakota wisdom teaches that our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health is all deeply and profoundly connected.
The conversation is part of our monthly talk series titled For Generations to Come: Anpetu Wi Dialogues from Standing Rock.
The talks in the series are devoted to raising awareness for Native American issues and our efforts to develop Anpetu Wi – a 235MW wind farm on our ancestral land at Standing Rock.
To receive a Zoom link to participate in the FREE conversation:
The talk will be followed by a live Q&A with the audience.
The program will also be streamed at anpetuwi.com and Facebook Live.
The Mni Wiconi Clinic and Farm is an envisioned model for the Lakota/Dakota Nation that was born out of the #WaterIsLifeMovement at the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ Camp that began in 2016, when the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and allies from across the world stood in opposition to the Energy Transfer Partners Dakota Access Pipeline.
